Talk to the growers

The Saturday Farmers market is our source for trusted organic greens, fruit, honey and flowers. Not everything is organic, so if that is important to you ask. Remember that there is a difference between organic, organic certified and pesticide free. Organics can be sprayed with organic pesticides. In any case you can enjoy the market and know you are helping yourself and local farmers.

Support those food and beverage artisans!

It does not get much better than this.
This time in transit journey so I could not fill the bag with primeur vegetables and much else that attracts along State Street this Tuesday. Is there anything better than filling your market basket with these eye-popping vegetables.Happy are you who live here.

Great market

Beautiful fruits and vegetables. If I lived here, I’d be there all the time. Everything was do fresh looking and very clean. Bought strawberries that we sooooo sweet.

Good produce and a lovely atmosphere

Even without the need to buy something highly recommended. You will find lots of locally grown products there (many of the organic).

Best fruit and veg market I’ve ever seen in January

What an amazing feast for the eyes, the nose and the palate. Such variety, such quality, and amazing value compared with Gelson’s or Lazy Acres. Yes, their produce is good, but the farmers’ market trumps them! And what friendly stallholders too.

Fresh and organic

The farmers market changes locations everyday, so be sure to check the schedule on their website.

We visited on a Sunday morning, when it was in Goleta at the Camino Real Shopping Center. It wasn’t that large (just a row of stalls), but they obviously aim for quality over quantity. In addition to fruits and vegetables, there are also flowers, jams, nuts, and even balloon animals for the kiddos.

We had only planned to come and take a look at the Farmers Market, but we actually ended up buying lots of produce for the remainder of our Santa Barbara trip.

Welcome to the Santa Barbara Farmers Market!

The Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market Association is a non-profit mutual benefit corporation that was founded in 1983 to provide California farmers with direct access at landmark locations to market their agricultural products directly to the local community. Our Association of 130 grower members, owned and operated by the members and its board of directors, is committed to helping promote local family farmers, and protecting the environment by sustaining and restoring surrounding greenbelt areas. The SBCFMA continues working diligently to bring the freshest and most nutritious produce our rich local agricultural land has to offer for you and your families.

The markets serve to strengthen the local communities ties and will help to provide weekly events at no cost while enhancing our community’s quality of life. Each week the farmers in the marketplace display a colorful bounty of agricultural products grown right in our backyard. Seasonal diversity is available year round rain or shine. Come. Shop. Socialize. Certified – the only way to buy!

Farmers Market Open Rain or Shine!

While markets may be slightly smaller on rainy days, all SBCFMA farmers’ markets remain OPEN as regularly scheduled. Grab your rain coat, umbrella, and shopping bag and come on down to get that fresh produce from your favorite local farmers. We look forward to seeing you at the market…rain or shine!
